Protein supplement - general characteristics of the supplement
A protein supplement has the appearance of a finely powdered substance, which can come in a variety of flavors. You can find a wide variety of flavors of protein supplements in stores. Protein supplements provide a great variety of daily supply of adequate protein. As a rule, meat is the most protein-rich food, but it would be unbearable to constantly eat meat for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
A protein supplement has the same amino acid profile as many meats. This means your body is getting exactly the same ingredients as in beef or chicken in a different, more convenient form. Protein supplements are often dissolved in water or milk using a shaker. Just a few shakes and the nutrient dissolves quickly, ready for drinking. Many people also use protein supplements as a side dish to create truly protein-packed meals. Examples include oatmeal, omelettes or even cakes! The possibilities are endless, and the only thing that limits a fit cook is their imagination! See Whey Protein - Crossthelimits
Types of protein supplements
You can find various types of protein supplements online. The most popular is traditional whey protein concentrate which contains up to 80% pure protein (hence the acronym WPC 80). It comes from milk so it has some sugars in it. It is the cheapest protein supplement - unfortunately it is not liked by people who are lactose intolerant. In this case, they choose a more expensive but better quality whey protein isolate containing up to 90% protein.
